Mahrez Furore

The match will no doubt be played out to a backdrop of chatter about Riyad Mahrez as the Leicester playmaker has been on strike since he was denied a move to Man City during the January transfer window.

It seems unlikely that Mahrez will play this weekend but his current teammates will have something to prove to their erstwhile colleague and we fancy that the Foxes can make life difficult for their hosts, particularly as they have only lost one of their past eight outings in all competitions.

Claude Puel has revitalised a Leicester team that has produced some competitive efforts during recent incarnations of this Man City v Leicester fixture, although City are 2/9 favourites (Bet Victor).

Head-To-Head

Since Pep Guardiola took over as Citizens manager, the Manchester club have won three of their four matches against Leicester in all competitions. The Foxes won 4-2 in December 2016 as Jamie Vardy banged in a hat-trick and he is 14/5 to score at anytime (Unibet) after scoring six goals in his last nine appearances for Leicester this season.

Man City have won the next three meetings (2-1, 2-0 and on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the League Cup) and we are going to back Leicester to cover a +2 goal advantage in the handicap market (BetVictor.com). It looks like a decent bet as the hosts might well have half an eye on their Champions League trip to Basel on Tuesday night.
