Willian To Find His Voice By Striking For Chelsea In Their FA Cup Match At Norwich

Spread the love

Antonio Conte faces a tricky juggling act with his squad this month as his Chelsea team play seven games in the space of 28 days during January and they are in FA Cup third round action when they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich on Saturday evening…

  • Both teams scored in 10 of Norwich’s 15 home games this season (won six, drawn five, lost four)
  • Willian scored four goals in six FA Cup games last season
  • Chelsea haven’t lost to Norwich since 1994

Recent Form

Conte is likely to rotate his team after watching Chelsea draw 2-2 at Arsenal on Wednesday, which was a result that leaves the Blues in fourth place in the Premier League, and they will face the Gunners again next Wednesday as they clash in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Chelsea head into this match with Norwich as 4/9 favourites (Paddy Power) as they look to go far in a competition in which they reached the final last season.

They take on a Norwich side that is languishing down in 13th place in the Championship table and it doesn’t bode well for the Canaries that they haven’t won a Norwich v Chelsea fixture since 1994, drawing two and losing nine since.

Bank On Goals

Daniel Farke’s men have been inconsistent this term but they do tend to guarantee goals as both teams have scored in 10 of their 15 matches in all competitions at Carrow Road, including in each of the past five in a row.

Both teams to score can be backed at 4/5 (Betfred) and the Chelsea win combined with both teams to score is a best price 21/10 (Betfred).

Indeed, the Blues have only kept four clean sheets in 15 matches away from Stamford Bridge in all formats this season and it is worth noting that both teams have found the net in all three of their Carabao Cup games so far.

It seems as though Conte will change his team around and that could mean a chance for William to impress. The Brazilian midfielder has only made 15 starts during this campaign but he has still scored seven goals, including in both of his Carabao Cup outings, and he did score four goals in six outings in the FA Cup last season.

With that in mind, Willian to score anytime looks like a very decent bet at 23/10 with Betfair.

*All odds correct at time of writing.
