Brazil To Wear Down England In Friendly International At Wembley

Spread the love

Gareth Southgate would’ve been buoyed by England’s goalless draw with Germany on Friday night, but his Three Lions will face another tough assignment on Tuesday evening when they host Brazil at Wembley in another marquee friendly, and with Southgate likely to tinker with his side once again then it will be the South American heavyweights that will start warm favourites for the glamour tie.

  • England drew 0-0 with Germany on Friday
  • Brazil beat Japan 3-1 a few days ago in a friendly
  • The sides drew 2-2 the last time they met in 2013

How Will It Go?

Brazil are challenging Germany at the head of the betting for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and they will head into this Wembley tie as warm 4/5 favourites with bet365, and having cruised past Japan in a friendly 3-1 a few days ago they will want to continue their decent run of form, and land another World Cup warmup win.

England battled to a draw with the Germans with a fairly inexperienced side a few days ago, and Southgate is sure to ring the changes again, but Unibet don’t fancy the home side to trouble the Brazilians and have installed them as 19/5 outsiders, while the draw is available at 11/4 with bet365 bookmakers.

These two sides haven’t met since 2013, where they drew 2-2, and before that it was England that won 2-1 thanks to goals from Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney, but with Southgate likely to unleash another new-look side on Tuesday with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur pairing Harry Kane and Dele Alli out through injury then it could be Brazil that take the honours with a fairly dominant victory.
Match Odds:

Brazil To Break England Down

Unsurprisingly, Brazil will have an abundance of attacking flare on show, which will certainly be far superior to England’s attack, but as is often the case with England friendlies they can often be a tough side to break down, so it has to be worth having a flutter on the teams drawing at half-time, with Brazil prevailing in the second 45 minutes, and the 4/1 with Betfair Sportsbook for it to be Draw/Brazil in the half-time/full-time market is a cracking bet.
HT/FT Odds:

Jesus To Open Scoring

Both Neymar and Gabriel Jesus bagged themselves first half goals in the abovementioned 3-1 win over Japan, and while the former is the 7/2 favourite with bet365 to net first, it’s the Manchester City star Jesus that can be the catalyst for a Brazil win, and the exciting talent is a great bet to score first at 4/1 with Betfair Sportsbook.

Southgate could tinker with his attacking line having partnered Jamie Vardy (7/1) and Tammy Abraham (8/1) against Germany, and it would be no surprise to see Marcus Rashford handed a start, and he is a more attractive betting proposition at 17/2 with Betfair Sportbsook to score first, but it’s hard to avoid the Brazilian attacking players in the first goalscorer market.
