Tottenham v Inter Milan Preview

Tottenham lost 2-1 to Inter in Italy as they conceded two late goals and contrived to lose a game they had completely dominated. All is not lost though as Mauricio Pochettino’s men are only three points behind Inter in the group standings ahead of this week’s huge fixture, with only two games left to play.

Will Spurs go full Tottenham and cock it up? Inter Milan are arguably more ‘Tottenhamy’ than Spurs when it comes to bottling advantageous positions and it will be interesting to see if they play for a draw that would confirm their own progress to the knockout stages.

The Italian side have a dreadful away record in Europe, winning only one of their last nine on the road (drawn three, lost five), and they haven’t kept a clean sheet in nine Champions League outings since 2011.

Tottenham are 3/4 for the win after winning each of their past five games in all competitions, scoring 12 goals in total.

We expect Spurs to be on-song after beating Chelsea 3-1 in the Premier League at the weekend and the Spurs win combined with over 2.5 goals is 6/4 with Betfred.

The stand-out bet for the match could well be the half-time and full-time Tottenham win at 15/8 (Bet Victor) as we expect the North London side to come out of the traps quickly and put Inter to the sword.

Harry Kane is 14/5 favourite to score first after notching five in his last six in all formats, and the England striker has scored 13 in 14 Champions League appearances.

The one man Spurs should be wary of is Mauro Icardi as he has scored five in his last six European outings, as well as 10 in 11 in all competitions this season, and he is 13/2 to score first this week.
