The prestige friendlies are coming thick and fast at the moment and the schedule throws up a potential humdinger on Thursday as Tottenham and Man United clash in Hong Kong. The two Premier League rivals will be eager to get one up on each other before the season proper starts and that will hopefully mean we get a decent contest.

Tottenham v Man United Tip

Tottenham go into the new season as a fascinating prospect with one or two new additions finally making their way to White Hart Lane.

The question does remain though about how they will recover from their devastating loss to Liverpool in the Champions League final. The Spurs players were clearly crushed in Madrid and it will now be interesting to see if they can use that final as a springboard to even higher peaks in the future or of that will prove to be the peak of their powers.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that Spurs are fully settled into their new stadium now but first comes this game against United in the far east with all three results more than possible.

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power make Spurs 7/5 pokes to win this game in normal time, while Man United are 13/8 short with the same firm this week.

As for United, they remain under intense pressure to improve this upcoming season after a woeful campaign last term and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know he has to hit the ground running.

Transfer rumours continue to swirl around Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba who both want to leave the club according to various reports but big money has been spent already this off season with Dan James and Aaron Win-Bissaka arriving into the club.

There is clearly a move by Solskjaer to increase the the quality of the young players in the Man United squad and this will be a tough pre-season test for the Old Trafford outfit.

In terms of a best bet for this game, punters should be looking at the weather conditions with the heat set to be searing in Hong Kong on Thursday. The humidity will surely ensure we see a slow game and that could lead to minimal attacking quality from either side in the final third. Under 2.5 goals in normal time is 11/10 with Paddy Power with a drab game on the cards.
